Recital Tip #3 - Performance Preparation

• All tights, dance shoes & hair pieces must be purchased at
  Turning Pointe Dancewear.
  
  They carry clip & pierced rhinestone earrings!

• DO:

  Check the costume photo print out in the studio or on the TSDC web site to find out the following important information:

  • Accessories your child needs to complete their costume

  • Tights

  • Hair style (Is a hair piece needed?)

  • Earrings

  • Shoes

  • Gloves

  • Any Miscellaneous items

  • Write it down or print it out from the web site so you will not get confused when the big day comes

• DO NOT:

  • Wear underwear with costume.

  • Wear any jewelry, watches, rope bracelets, other than the required rhinestone earrings.

  • Have any strings hanging from costume or on ballet slippers.

  • Wear press-on tattoos

• Make Up:

  • All female dancers must wear make up for the stage — boys do not!

  • Wear eye shadow from the plum, lavender, brown family. (Avoid blue or green)

  • Lipstick should be a bright color from the red family.
    No pinks, oranges, browns, blacks, purples, etc. These colors will turn in the lights.

  • Blush should be a bit darker than street wear.

  • Mascara (if possible) for little ones.

  • False eyelashes for level 10 and up.

• Hair:

  • Hair should be done in the style described on the costume photo print out in the studio or on the web site.
