Recital Tip #2 - Day of the Recital

  • Dancers should report to the theater at least 1 hour before the curtain. Dressed, make up, hair done—ready to go.

  • There can be no food brought into the dressing rooms. We have several students who have severe allergies to certain foods causing an anaphylactic reaction which is a life threatening condition.

  • ABSOLUTELY NO STUDENTS ARE PERMITTED IN THE AUDIENCE.

    • If you bring your dancer into the audience, you will be asked to leave. You are more than welcomed to sit in the dressing area with your child.

  • At each performance there will be parent volunteers working back stage, in the dressing rooms and out front in the lobby.

    • These parents will provide excellent care for all the children participating in the show.

  • Everyone is welcome to volunteer for one or two performances that you are not planning to watch. In the past we have had the best parents in the world running everything as smooth as glass.

    • If you are watching the show, please do not worry, your star is in the best of hands. You may come back at intermission to visit.

  • Bring something for your little one to quietly occupy themselves with. Books, video games, coloring books, etc. (No magic markers!)

  • Don’t forget —no eating or drinking in costume !!

  • We must ask that fathers do NOT come into the dressing rooms.

  • NO cameras are permitted in the dressing rooms.

  • NO photographing or video taping permitted during the performances.
Rowan University Security will remove you from the audience if you are caught taking photos or video.
