Tricia Sloan

 Artistic Director & Faculty Member

A passion for dance and performing has taken Tricia’s career to the stage, film and television. As a member of the Screen Actor’s Guild and the Actor's Equity Association, Tricia appeared  in the motion picture, “The Stepford Wives” as a featured dancer in the Paramount Productions film.  The cast included Nicole Kidman, Glenn Close, Bette Midler, Faith Hill, Matthew Broderick, Christopher Walkin and Jon Lovitz.  She has also appeared in the television series “Law and Order, Special Victims Unit” for NBC television.

In the last few years Tricia has had the privilege to appear with such notable performers as Deborah Gibson, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Thelma Houston, Deana DiGarmo, and Anthony Federov.

Tricia has been a member of three ballet companies.  In addition to her ballet career she could be found performing in many New York City productions and stage shows in Atlantic City.   Her work as a choreographer can be seen at the Tropicana and the Borgata casinos.  She is also under contract as a model with The Greer Lang Talent Agency in Philadelphia.

As a child Tricia began her love of dance under her mother’s careful eye.  She then went on to study with Victor Moreno and quickly advanced through the ranks of Ballet South to a soloist at age fifteen.  Her training in classical ballet has taken her to the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet in Narberth, PA, The Rock School of the Pennsylvania Ballet Co., and the Marion Tonner Ballet Center in Philadelphia.

At the age of eighteen she danced for the Maryland Ballet Co.  Two years later she traveled to Columbia, SC and performed many roles with the Columbia City Ballet.  While there she had the good fortune to study with the famous ballerina, Gelsey Kirkland.  As a guest artist with the Delaware Dance Company, Tricia performed at the Grand Old Opera House in Wilmington and at the Regional Dance America Festival in Ohio.

Professional -- Provoking -- Powerful -- Patient

Tricia is a four time title holder in the Miss America System and in 1997 was a top five finalist at the Miss New Jersey Pageant.  Because of her extensive involvement with young people, Tricia was honored by the Gloucester County Times as one of the county’s one hundred residents who are making a difference in the community.

In the year 2000 Tricia formed Center Stage Productions.  This organization produces ballets and live shows including the annual performance of the Nutcracker.  Some of the roles Tricia has performed for CSP are Lucy (Dracula), Sugar Plum Fairy, Arabian, Snow Queen (The Nutcracker).

As a teacher, Tricia always challenges her students to reach for new goals—as she does herself.  Splitting her time between South Jersey and New York City, she is actively pursuing a Broadway career.  Tricia believes that by still taking class and performing she is able to inspire her students.  The valuable lessons that she learns everyday are passed on in her classroom to the young dancers of the future.
