Meredith Lyons

Meredith’s portfolio reflects eighteen years of dancing and performing on a professional level.  She studied extensively under the direction of Madelein Canterella Culpo, Artistic Director of the Albany Berkshire Ballet in Albany, New York.

Meredith also studied under the direction of the acclaimed Tauna Hunter, who elevated her quality of dance to that of a professional.  It was under Mrs. Hunter’s direction that Meredith received a Bachelor of Arts from Mercyhurst College in Teaching and Choreography with a minor in Arts Administration.

While working on her degree she was the Ballet Mistress for the Bayfront Dance Center teaching all intermediate and advanced ballet classes.  Meredith also had the distinction of being the substitute teacher in all dance classes for the faculty at the college.

Meredith had the honor of working with world-renowned Spanish dancer Luis Montero.  While working with Mr. Montero she was asked to stage the ballet, “Carmen”.  She was further honored by performing in a special work by Mr. Montero for Mercyhurst. 

Another highlight in Meredith’s career was dancing with Ballet Concerto in Fort Worth, Texas under the direction of Margo Dean.  She has also danced professionally with the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company performing throughout upstate New York.

Last winter Meredith toured throughout the Northeast with the Albany Berkshire Ballet as a company member.  Her vast repertoire of dancing includes Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Spanish Dancing.

Meredith is a pointe shoe specialist and has given pointe shoe fittings for Briansky, NYSSSA, Ballet Regent, School of American Ballet and the New York City Ballet.
