What is Dance Company?

The Dance Company is a group of dedicated, dynamic and versatile young people at the Tricia Sloan Dance Center, who enjoy and love the art form of DANCE.

Members of Dance Company take the required number of dance classes for their assigned company each week thus building strong dance technique.

At the weekly company rehearsals new choreography is taught that includes, hip hop, lyrical, musical theater, ballet and tap. These routines are rehearsed and performed in the annual company show, recitals, competitions and special events  throughout the year.

Dance company members' ages range from 6 through 18.

What is the mission of the Dance Company?

The mission of the Dance Company is to have each member...
     * fully develop the their dance techniques & abilities
     * acquire the sense of dance and performing ability
     * provide participation in many dance/theatrical programs
     * gain confidence & valuable experience while working with professional performers and choreographers

What are the different levels of Dance Company?

TSDC has 7 major levels of Dance Companies as follows:
    1. Teeny
    2. Mini I & Mini II
    3. Petite
    4. Intermediate I & Intermediate II
    5. Junior
    6. Senior I & Senior II
    7. Elite

What are the requirements of each Dance Company?

Teeny (Level Kinder, 1)

Take a minimum of 1 class per week Choice of 1 of the following:
  • Ballet
  • Ballet/Jazz
  • Ballet/Lyrical
  • Lyrical
  • Tap
  • Tap/Jazz
  • Hip Hop
Plus attend weekly 1-hour rehearsal Friday 5:30-6:30
*** Acro class does not count toward the requirements for the Dance Company.
Mini I ( Level 2 )
Mini II (Level 3)

Take the following 2 classes each week
  • 1 Ballet
  • Plus 1 additional class from a choice of
    • Hip Hop
    • Tap
    • Tap/Jazz
    • Ballet
    • Ballet/Jazz
    • Ballet/Lyrical
    • Ballet/PrePointe
    • Jazz
    • Lyrical
    • Musical Theater
    • Pre-Pointe
Plus attend weekly 1-hour rehearsal:
     "Mini 1 Company" Friday 6:30-7:30

Petite: (Level 4)

Take the following 3 classes each week

Intermediate I ( 1st year in Intermediate, Level 5)
Intermediate II ( 2nd year in Intermediate, Level 6)

Take the following 4 classes each week
  • 1 Ballet

What are the benefits of  becoming a dance company member?

Who, when and how can you someone join?

Anyone interested in joining the Dance Company may do so.

Membership is accepted during the enrollment period, July through October.

Simply select the appropriate dance company on your registration form.

Make sure you meet all of the minimum class requirements when enrolling.

What are the monthly dues for dance company and what the coustume requirements?

For Petite through Elite Dance Company members the monthly dues are $50.00.

SPECIAL PRICING: For Teeny and  Mini Dance Company members the monthly dues re reduced to $40.00, a 20% discount.

Each company performs 2 routines in the company showcase and recital. Each routine requires the purchase of a costume. a total of 2 costumes. In addition, each company member will perform the finale at the showcase and recital. This finale routine also requires a costume, which is purchased by the Tricia Sloan Dance Center with no cost for the damce company member.
