What is The Dance Company?

The Dance Company is a group of dedicated, dynamic and versatile young people at the Tricia Sloan Dance Center, who enjoy and love the art form of DANCE. 

The members of Dance Company take several required classes each week building a strong technique.  At the weekly company rehearsals new choreography that includes, hip-hop, lyrical, musical theater, etc., is taught and then performed throughout the year.

Their ages range from 7-18.  

If you love to dance and perform, then you will love
to be in the TSDC  Dance Company.
What are the dues for company & what are they used for? Dues for each dancer are  $6 per week for weeks of rehearsals.
The dues are used for following purposes:

  1. Compensation for the 3 to 5 TSDC instructors for 6-7 hours of rehearsal each week.

  2. Elimination of all necessary fund raising by parents, dance company members and families.

  3. Covers ALL the costs of group competition fees. 

    1. There are NO additional cost to the parents for group competitions. 

    2. Normal average competition fee is $25-$50 per dancer per dance.  For 1 competition this cost averages $100-$300 per dancer for the parents.

  4. The purchase of a second company costume used for the recital, company show, local appearances and dance competitions.

  5. The additional company costume purchased is your dancer's at the end of the dance year.

  6. Reimbursement of all travel and related expenses for any guest choreographers who are brought to TSDC from New York, Philadelphia, Atlantic City and other locations for purposes of directing/choreographing our company members.

  7. The purchase of TSDC Dance Company shirts and shorts worn at at Camden Riversharks appearance and performance.

  8. Annual Dance Company Trophy

  9. In-house parties and celebrations, such as Halloween Party,  Christmas Party, Spring Company Show Party.

  10. Production costs for company show including:

    1. Rent of the theater

    2. Technical, lighting and sound crew salaries

    3. Purchase of music and choreography rights

    4. Backdrop, scenery & prop rental

    5. Program production and duplicating

    6. Liability insurance

    7. All other related costs to the production of the showxase
