Students enter the
Ballet Division and now begin
a formal study of classical ballet.
In this level the children are instructed in the etiquette
and formal traditions of this art form.
The curriculum stresses correct
body placement at all levels
which facilitates development of strong and
flexible bodies.
Careful repetition of exercises in this syllabus will
allow students
to make faster and more consistent progress at the upper
levels.
Students in this level will progress to the next level
when they
have mastered the vocabulary and
physical understanding required in the syllabus
of their current level.
Ages
8 yrs. -
Level 6
These students follow a
structured sequence of training stages designed to increase their technical
skills, stamina and discipline in accordance with their age and physical
development.

and physical understanding required in the syllabus of
their current level.
Ages
9-11 yrs. -
Levels 7-9
Level 5 thru 7
students have the option of taking 2-3 ballet classes per week.
Taking two or more
classes per week will begin to prepare them for pointe work which begins
around age 12. Pointe work is subject to the teachers recommendation
when she feels they are fully ready to start.
Students will progress
to the next level when they have mastered the vocabulary
and physical
understanding required in the syllabus of their current level.
Ages
12 to
Adult - Levels 10-12 & Adult
This is the most advanced
training and encourages students to
attend a minimum of 3-4 ballet technique/pointe
classes.
Also offered are
classes in partnering and repertoire.
Students in
this division are placed in a specific level based on their
technical and
physical aptitude for classical ballet
and the amount of time which they choose
to commit to their dance training.
Progression to the next level is based on
mastering the vocabulary
and physical understanding required in the syllabus of
their current level.
