TSDC is located in the historic Grosscup Building. Tricia along
with parents, Patty and Jim designed the 2,500
square foot facility in the Spring of 1999. The site of the studio dates back
to the turn of the 19th century. The building
was once an
A & P Store, a deli, an antique shop,
and an art/framing shop.
In the Summer of '06,
TSDC expanded another 1,040 square feet into adjacent
space at 6 N. West Avenue. The additional space provides
a 3rd studio, office area, dancewear shop and a larger
waiting area.

Layout of the
Tricia Sloan Dance Center
There
are 3 studios at the Tricia Sloan Dance Center. In the
front of the building are 2 very large sun-filled dance studios (Studios A and B
above). To the right of the dance center's entrance is a
3rd, 520 sq. ft, dance studio. Studios A & B are spacious
with 12 foot high ceilings and are equipped
with professional dance floors, an abundance of mirrors
and cameras, which project the studio activity to 2 monitors in the waiting area.
The 3rd studio is equipped with
a solid wall of mirrors, hardwood flooring, floor to
ceiling windows and a camera which projects into the
waiting area.
In addition to the waiting area,
there is a changing room, two lavatories,
dancewear shop, large office space, a drinking fountain
and refreshment area.. The entire
space is air-conditioned and handicapped accessible. Lots
of parking and easy accessibility for dropping off
students directly in front of the entrance on West Ave. |
