Family owned and operated

TSDC is truly a family owned and operated business.  Each and every member of the Sloan family participates in the ownership and operations of the dance center.  Each brings his/her unique set of skills, talents, energy and enthusiasm to TSDC in the effort to make it the highest regarded family friendly studio in the Tri-Sate area.

In 1968 Patti started the Leonardo Dance Studio in West Deptford, which has now grown into the Tricia Sloan Dance Center. Her dance background includes many years of study with Norma and Alicia Craig with the Philadelphia Civic Ballet. She also studied tap and jazz with William Sena of Philadelphia. 

She is a graduate of Cathedral Academy in Camden, NJ, Gloucester County College and Glassboro State College, now Rowan University.  At Glassboro State she majored in Speech, Theater and Dance with a concentration in Dance. She graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. 

Today, Patti is responsible for a variety of duties at TSDC including: Customer relations, advertising, public relations, office management, communications, dancewear management and Director of productions for the TSDC dance Company.

Tricia attended Gloucester Catholic High School. She has an AA degree in Liberal Arts from Gloucester County College. Tricia is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the Actors Equity Association.

In 1995 Tricia assumed the role of Artistic Director of the Leonardo Dance Studio. The school was renamed the Tricia Sloan Dance Center and relocated to its present site. Her duties are many including recruitment of faculty, development of the curriculum, master scheduling of classes, direction and production of recitals, dance company performances and Nutcracker Ballet.

Jim has been involved behind the scenes with the operation of the studio since 1972.  He graduated from the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia in !970.  He holds an AS degree from Gloucester County College, a BA from Glassboro State College and an MBA from Drexel University.  His major at all 3 institutions was Information Systems. His is currently on the Faculty at Gloucester County College.

At TSDC, he is responsible for the web site, management of the center's database and finances, and the maintaining of the facilities.

Shannon attended Paul VI High School and Gloucester County College. She graduated from Rowan University with  a BA degree in Marketing and Management. She currently works full time as an Accountant.

At TSDC, Shannon is the accountant and manager of the accounts receivables. She assists with the Dance Company operations and productions. She was married to Sergio Araujo on May 14, 2005.

Timothy attends the South Jersey Performing Arts Academy at Gloucester County Institute of Technology. There Tim is studying dance under the tutelage  of David Kloss, Althea Leslie and Norman Taylor.  He studies voice and piano with Eileen Biernbaum at the Gift of Music Academy in Deptford. He is studies acting at the Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia. He has been studying dance at TSDC for 11 years and now is a senior member of the dance company.

At TSDC, Tim is responsible for the management and operation of the refreshment center.  He also manages the refreshments at all the recitals and Dance Company productions.
