Below is an email
from Shawn Salvatore, Tricia's husband on June 11, 2009
Hey everybody, It's been a long, crazy,
whirlwind of a day... BUT WORTH EVERY MINUTE!!! Wow. The day started
with Tricia heading to her routine baby doctor's appointment. Then, all
hell broke loose. The baby had flipped into a breech position, and the
doctor felt strongly that a c-section should happen ASAP. Long story
short, Sloan Avery Salvatore was born via c-section at 4:16pm, June 11,
2009. She weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds, 12 ounces. And she's 20
inches in length. In the words of the Doctor, "Where in the world were
you carrying this baby?!"
We are here at the hospital tonight, just
talking about how lucky we are to have a healthy, beautiful (big) baby
girl. We can't wait for everyone to meet her! In the meantime, here are
some photos of tonight's big event. Talk to everyone soon.
Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and
prayers. Tricia and Shawn
